YourCode Group are currently looking for a GDS User Researcher to join our consultancy arm, working on key government projects based in London, Manchester, Leeds or Coventry (remote working with office trips available). You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team of specialists to support User Researchers across the UK to deliver high quality and efficient research with a meaningful effect on current life. You will be part of implementing a comprehensive strategy working on key measures that can improve peoples lives.
The team as a whole is responsible for ethical reviews, the handling of research data, researcher training and induction, research lab management, participant recruitment, information management, and knowledge management. Delivery of all these services enables our researchers to do their best work.
As a User Researcher in the team, you will plan, design and carry out research activities to inform the design of these services. You will do this by developing a deeper understanding of the people that use them and their needs. This will primarily involve research with researchers, as well as with other people working in multi-disciplinary delivery teams, and with senior stakeholders.

You will develop research plans and approaches for a given service. You will use a range of research methods, including usability testing, contextual interviews, workshops, surveys, and pop up research. You will carry out rapid analysis as well as larger pieces of work with a broader, strategic focus.

You'll communicate insights from research in engaging and impactful ways to motivate change and to improve services.
