What we do:

As part of Middle Office Reconciliation team, we maintain Investment book of Records
  • Comprehensive asset manager view of fund
  • Support the Investment Process-Front-office decision making
  • Real-time P&L

  • Performance measurement and analysis of portfolio

The successful candidate will:

Serve as a lead for the day-to-day operations of a Middle Office support team, providing work direction and technical assistance on complex matters.

Essential Functions - Key Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Lead the daily activities of a Middle Office support team servicing multiple funds. Review data and assist in resolving escalated problems that may arise during the normal daily, weekly or monthly accounting and reporting
  • Supervise the tracking of fund data and trades, as well as the maintenance of records. Establish data maintenance and summarisation processes and procedures to improve team efficiency and best support the Middle Office support team
  • Search for fail points in processes and provide error reports to clients in compliance with established service level agreements. Review error reports from more junior team members and provides feedback. Ensure error reports from support staff comply with service level agreements before they are shared with Middle Office teams. Escalate external errors; correction of internal errors is at the discretion of the client
  • Review for exceptions. If exceptions are found, confirm that internal and client procedures were followed, processing was on time and in line with FCC regulations and no unnecessary steps were taken. Check exceptions identified by more junior level team members. Dictate how support team handle incorrectly managed exceptions and enforces adherence to procedures
  • Lead team in preparing system-generated reports. Set standards for team's report output to be shared with client teams. Coordinate review of reports and the sharing of reports with Middle Office teams. Review work of junior team members
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to reduce audit and financial exposure and improve team efficiency

What we are looking for:
  • High school/secondary school or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required; Bachelor's degree a plus, mutual fund industry background preferred
  • 3-5 years of total work experience preferred; experience in accounting support or the mutual fund industry preferred
  • Excellent leadership skills, ability to lead dynamic team
  • Ability to quickly address issues - strong decision making
  • Strong Financial Services Technical Skills
  • Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft packages particularly Excel
