Maintenance Engineer
Location: Purfleet
Salary: £48,800 (inclusive of shift allowance)
Hours: Monday to Friday - rotating early, late & night shifts (one week on each shift).5.50 am to 2pm, 1.50 pm to 10pm, 9.50pm to 6am
Overtime: Time x 1.5 for Monday - Saturday.Time x 2 for Sundays & Bank Holidays
Benefits: 25 days leave + 8 Bank Holidays, excellent pension scheme - matched up to 10%, Cash health plan, subsidised health and fitness offers & fitness reimbursements, death in service (8 x base salary)
The role is predominantly to provide planned maintenance and fault-finding of packaging machinery and processing plant, although other duties will be required on an ad-hoc basis
The person - skills & experience:Ideally Apprentice trained or time served (C&G or BTEC or equivalent educated) either multi-skilled or with a strong electrical bias with mechanical experienceExperience and understanding of packaging equipment within an automated production environment.Electrical engineering experience/knowledge is desirable - ideally worked as a multi-skilled engineer on a similar site (FMCG - food, pharma)Experience of using PLC and pneumatic systems will be advantageousWorking within a LEAN manufacturing environmentFully skilled in electrical fault finding & repair of production line equipmentProactive initiative in maintenance & asset reliabilityAbility to read engineering diagramsGood problem solver
Main responsibilities:General maintenance on packaging machinery (planned and preventative)Carryout fault finding & repair on packing machinery and processing plantPPM on packaging machinery and processing plant equipmentMaintain company standards - specifically production levels, health & safety and housekeeping
