£35.78 per hour inclusive of pro rata holiday entitlement and preparation time.

Are you an experienced and dynamic Japanese language Tutor? Then join us to plan, teach and evaluate courses at a range of levels, helping to bring together people across the capital and beyond and to enrich lives through learning.

City Lit are London's largest provider of learning for adults, inspiring over 30,000 students a year and offering more than 5,000 courses, online and face-to-face. As a leader in our field, we have a century's reputation for delivering the highest quality student experience.

You'll be a key contributor to our thriving Languages department, where we offer a wide range of courses across all levels. You will teach in a creative and flexible way inspiring learners to achieve and put their languages skills into practice.

We welcome applications from tutors with experience of teaching a range of levels, particularly those with availability for the following:
  • Japanese 2 lower: module 1, Thursday 18:00-19:30, 11 weeks at Covent Garden starting on 29 September 2022. (Initial 3 month FTC) Japanese 2 upper: module 1, Thursday 19:35-21:05, 11 weeks, at Covent Garden starting 29 September 2022. (Initial 3 month FTC) Japanese beginners: module 1, Monday 18:30-20:30, 8 weeks, Online starting on 6 February 2023 (Ongoing)

Please submit your CV and a covering letter, detailing your skills and experience. You will particularly attract our interest if this covers:
  • Advanced level Japanese, with the ability to converse at native speaker level
  • Experience of teaching Japanese to adults.
  • A qualification relevant to Japanese language and/or equivalent experience
  • Up to date knowledge, enthusiasm, and interest for the subject.
  • The ability to create a vibrant and dynamic learning environment to enable students to achieve both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Experience of teaching online
