Reporting too: Pricing Manager

Job Description:

Must be able to work as part of a team.
    • Receive, review, and analyse all incoming pricing requests to win business through accurate, effective, and timely submission. To ensure that customers' requests are met with the optimum service levels and associated pricing.
    • Negotiate rates with carriers / hauliers / suppliers. Confirm availability of equipment and agree prices where no tariff exists, to maximise cost-effectiveness.
    • Provide analytics support by way of quality data entry and maintaining the Quote Log for all quotations to review and contribute toward the ongoing processes.
    • Manage and follow up all quotes to obtain feedback to measure, analyse and circulate to the relevant teams, adjusting pricing where possible to ensure we secure opportunities.
    • Monitor won / loss quote ratio on a weekly basis and ensure that we maintain our profit and loss data to analyse.
    • Ensure that any quotes accepted comply strictly with our terms and conditions and accounting practices.
    • Handover of secured jobs to the relevant operations teams in a timely manner with all required information.
    • To produce strategic tariffs when required to ensure effective workload and to ensure these tariffs are kept up to date and relevant.
    • Seek new carriers / routings that bring value to both company and its customers.
    • Provide support to implement or restructure the role or the department to meet the vision or the needs of the company.
    • Support the transition from one system to another.
    • Take financial responsibility for both costs and revenue. Set up to improve profit margins through more strategic pricing.
    • Coordinate with the Procurement Team regarding pricing changes, policies, and procedures.
    • Monitor carrier websites and notifications.
    • Provide appropriate and timely information to other departments.
    • Investigate pricing discrepancies and obtain rectification in a timely manner to prevent further issues.
    • Improve processes, files, and documents to increase efficiencies within the role.
    • Develop and build relationships and provide the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers.
    • Maintain a high level of awareness of market fluctuations in rates and charges.
    • Identifying market trends, potential, and customers' needs.
    • Demonstrate flexibility and team skills within the department to ensure consistent and uninterrupted service to the customers.
    • Maintain mailboxes under your control.
    • Any other delegated tasks deemed reasonable as assigned by the reporting manager in line with department growth.
    • Ensure that you comply with company policies and operate within all agreed operational procedures, and within statutory requirements including the provision and maintenance of a safe working environment.
    • Always protect the interests of the business and escalate any areas of concern to the appropriate channels.
    • Setting goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with the company's plans and vision.

Essential Experience and Knowledge
  • a good understanding of Microsoft word/ excel/ outlook
  • educated to min GCSE or equivalent
  • able to prioritise and work under pressure to meet targets
  • able to work in a team
  • a good communicator and ability to develop strong credible relationships
