We develop and deliver the Nalytics software solution - a cloud-based, AI powered, search and discovery platform - along with several focussed solutions based on the platform technology. The technology underpinning Nalytics is unique, and the solution's search functionality enables content classification, data enhancement (to automatically highlight key entities and values), and NLP techniques. As a result, relevant information is found, even when the search terms to use are not known.With offices in London, Glasgow, and Amsterdam, we work with large and small businesses, helping them meet their industry's regulatory compliance requirements and supporting their data search, discovery, and analysis challenges.Job OverviewThe Development and DevOps Engineering role is a hybrid role having both knowledge and experience in developing and delivering and managing application software in today's world of Cloud computing. As well as supporting development of our Nalytics platform software the role will be instrumental in managing the DevOps activities required to deploy, implement and run the platform software for our customers. This role proactively manages development and system requirements and addresses any relevant challenges and problems. The role also performs standard testing and provides high quality solutions to ensure high levels of performance and adherence to customer requirements.Who Are You?We are looking for a problem-solver with great attention to detail and strong organizational ability. Since end user interaction and teamwork are important aspects of the role, excellent communication and people skills are imperative. You will draw upon their development and problem solving skills to work within a small team, sometimes on their own, to develop new approaches and techniques applicable to improve the Nalytics platform and its deployment/manageability. Good analytical and troubleshooting skills are a must!Main Responsibilities and Duties Implementation Support* Examine and evaluate current systems, both internal to Nalanda Technology and those of our clients and prospects* Identify requirements and document recommendations* Liaise with users and colleagues to track additional requirements and features* Collaborate with Product Management and developers to produce new features and enhancements to existing systems* Assist in the delivery of training solutions to clients* Ensure deadline and budget requirements are met for internal and external projects* Stay up-to-date with current technologies, technical developments and new methodologies* Produce and add to project reports for internal and external reporting linesSoftware Development* Collaborate with other development professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications* Use tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and user interface of desired product* Communicate successfully all concepts and guidelines to development team and hierarchy* Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers, engineers and other team membersDevOps* Management of Cloud console platforms, including creation and management of resources for internal and customer requirements* Creation of Docker containers for Nalytics platform* Deployment automation, monitoring and managementExperience* Degree in Computing/Software Engineering - or similar - desirable but NOT essential* A passion for innovating and producing intuitive easy to use software* Development experience using Java and web-based technologies, with proven skills in the areas of developing highly performant, robust and scalable real-world solutions.* Experience and knowledge of DevOps technologies and approaches * Docker & Kubernetes* Docker container creation* ARM Templates deployment* Jenkins* Working knowledge and experience or Azure, AWS or Google Cloud platforms* Experience and knowledge of ISO standards 9000/27001 and Cyber EssentialsBenefits* A technologically enthusiastic company and colleagues* A structure where everyone has a voice and makes a direct and valued contribution to building the best product possible* Working to improve the lives of the most disadvantaged people* Flexible working hours and a relaxed working environment* 25 days leave rising to 30 after 2 years (plus bank holidays)* Enhanced pension scheme* Cycle-to-work scheme* Employee Assistance Programmes* Season ticket travel loans
