JOB- Junior Mechanical Design Engineer LOCATION- CornwallTERM- PermanentSALARY- £25,000 - £30,000 per annum plus other great benefits My client has a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their business on a permanent basis in the Plymouth area. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding around general Mechanical Engineering and will ensure they always work to the highest standards satisfying the company's and customer's requirements by driving products from design, through to prototyping and manufacture meeting the customer/client needs.The Junior Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• Recent Graduate with a good degree in a relevant subject e.g., Mechanical Design, Design Engineering
• Experience working in Mechanical Design using 3D CAD SolidWorks software ideally
• Creative approach to design and solving problems
• Ability to work to deadlines and have great attention to detail
• Be self-motivated and have an organised approach to work
• Be able to work well individually as well as a team

The Junior Design Engineer role will involve:

• Generate designs from concept which will involve preparing layout drawings for clients / customers
• Test prototypes, write reports and assist with design modifications.
• Applying engineering design principles and working within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure compliance to specifications
• Creating new designs and modifying existing lines to improve designs
• Communicating all findings to engineering colleagues to help with the progression of design projects
• Strong time management and problem-solving skills
