Holt Executive are supporting a leading supplier of advanced electronic communications, information systems and signals intelligence technology to the defence and security sectors.

Due to current business growth, they are recruiting a Senior Commercial Manager who will play a key role in supporting the Managing Director in delivering commercial activities as well as working with both Business Development and Project teams to develop commercial solutions.

Key responsibilities for Senior Commercial Manager:
  • To manage the preparation and submission of commercial proposals on behalf of the business, including the preparation of responses to contract conditions and the management of the Request for Bid Approvals.
  • To formulate and obtain approval for all agreements to be entered into by the business as prime or sub contractor, and to enter into all contractual commitments with customers on behalf of the business.
  • To manage the negotiations with customers of contract terms and conditions, including price and payment, leading to contract award and acceptance.
  • To manage effective contract execution through the lifecycle, from the issue of internal authorisation through to contract closure.

Key Experience for Senior Commercial Manager:
  • Broad based knowledge of, and at least ten years experience working within, the defence industry.
  • Wide experience of the UK defence contracting environment, with a detailed understanding of pricing, contract terms and conditions, financing and funding mechanisms and a working knowledge of contract law.
  • Have previous experience in working across internal and external business boundaries.
  • Have relevant experience in the conduct and conclusion of contract negotiations with customers.
