  1. Projects. Build, test and implement technical solutions to support BMO GLOBAL ASSET MANAGEMENT project portfolio. Take the lead or act as a team member as required by the circumstances of the project. All projects will be structured according to the agreed standards for running business projects.
  2. Operational environment. Build and document an operational environment that supports BMO GLOBAL ASSET MANAGEMENT applications and meets the requirements of service availability and recoverability, including where necessary working outside of business hours to cover systems implementations and support.
  3. Procedures. Understand and implement procedures for which the team is responsible. Recommend improvements in the team's procedures to the Manager, IT Platforms.
  4. Disaster Recovery. Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing. Maintain documentation detailing procedures for recovery of key business systems.
  5. Documentation. Work with IT Operations team to ensure effective handover of support procedures and systems documentation.
  6. Security. Comply with the requirements of the company Information Security Policy and to carry out all duties with due attention to Information Security, following departmental procedures and controls.
  7. Internal Relationships. Maintain communication with all areas of IT Infrastructure such that the technical workflow moves smoothly through from start to finish.
  8. External Relationships. Establish and maintain a relationship with key suppliers and contacts to gain insight into best practice.
  9. Commercial Awareness. Maintain a professional relationship with all suppliers to ensure BMO GLOBAL ASSET MANAGEMENT obtain best value for money and service from the relationships.
  10. Reporting. Ensure that accurate reporting is delivered on a weekly basis detailing activities to the Manager, IT Platforms
Qualifications and Experience
  • At least 6 years IT support experience (of which 4 at 2nd line or above responsibility) in 3 or more of the following areas:
  • Systems Administration: Installation, configuration, tuning, maintenance, scripting (Windows, VMware ESXi, VMware Vsphere, MS Exchange 2016);
  • Microsoft Technologies Including - Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM, Azure AD, Sharepoint online, MS Teams
  • Systems Management Tools: Installation, configuration (BMC Control-M, Solarwinds)
  • Infrastructure design, build and support (Intel, AMD, HP, VMware)
  • Databases: Installation, administration, tuning, maintenance (MS SQL)
  • Knowledge and experience of the following technologies would be advantageous
  • Applications - Thinkfolio, Cadis, IBM MQ, IBM ConnectDirect, BMC Control-M
  • Citrix Xen desktop and Xen app
  • Storage systems - Netapp Filers, EMC storage and SAN change and design
  • Should be technically and business aware. Industry related qualifications would be advantageous.
