Our client design and build some of the best venues in London, fill them with fantastic content and then build a community of interest around them. They currently operate and programme three venues in the heart of Bethnal Green.

The main site is a multi-purpose venue with over 5000 square feet of unobstructed statement space, in a unique London setting.

They are looking to hire a hands on Financial Controller (Full Time) who will take charge of the finance function. This is an exciting role for someone looking to join an SME business, be hands on and take charge of the function. On offer is a salary of £65,000 and flexible working (2 days pw in office).

The Financial Controller will be responsible for the financial control, reporting and planning for the Group, in addition to taking a senior lead on operational and commercial matters. The role will deliver strong technical and commercial disciplines for the business and support ongoing growth; it provides the right candidate with the opportunity to own an integral position within a leading entertainment business.
Assignment Details
  • Responsibility for the financial control and governance of the group
  • Ensuring quality, relevant financial reporting to the board and the wider business
  • Reporting to include focus on unit profitability
  • Responsibility for the day to day finance functions including receivables, payables, payroll, VAT, company secretarial
  • Cash/working capital management and reporting
  • Attendance and presentation at board meetings
  • Drive the financial planning of the company including Group budget preparation (single and multi-year), presentation and completion, liaising with departmental personnel as necessary
  • Financial risk assessment and management
  • Performance against budget appraisal and reporting
  • Closely supporting and working alongside Managing Director
  • Commercial contract negotiations
  • KPI reporting
  • Management of Accounts Assistant
  • Financial appraisal of project opportunities and strategic considerations
  • Management of year end financial statements and tax reporting process
  • Management of key relationships relevant to the financial operations of the business
  • Any other duties are directed by the board

Skills Required
  • Fully Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA
  • 6 years minimum PQE
  • Experience to include senior stakeholder management
  • Experience to include time spent in live/entertainment industry
  • Good Excel
  • Analytical mind with a strategic ability
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Attention to detail, highly literate and numerate
  • Strong written, and verbal, communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of personnel
