London is the Bank's European Headquarters and ESO is the EMEA IT hub of Europe. ESO provide support and change services for over 2000 staff in 30 offices across EMEA. This role is associate director of IT risk and governance team in ESO, basein London and reporting to the Head of IT risk and governance.

Main Purpose of the Role :
  • Support the head of EMEA Technology and International Securities, to manage, track and report on all cost saving and cost optimisation initiatives as well as the leadership and management of the service catalogue team.
  • This role will ensure that the goals set out in the medium term business plan (MTBP) are measured and tracked. The individual will be responsible for working closely with the EMEA Technology leadership team, to understand the initiatives and the associated risks, issues and dependencies. The role holder will be expected to develop a deep understanding of the planned activities.
  • The role holder will also be responsible for leading and managing the service catalogue team. This includes setting out the direction of the service catalogue tool, owning the operating model including the timetable for producing updated quarterly and annual reviews. This person will be the primary point of contact for all service catalogue queries and will work closely with Finance business partners, technology managers and business / function leads to ensure the service catalogue is understood.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for MUFG's EMEA banking arm and securities business under a dual-hat arrangement. Under this arrangement, you will act and make decisions on behalf of both the bank and the securities business, subject to the same remit and level of authority, and irrespective of the entity which employs you.
  • Work with head of business support and cost optimisation head to gather progress updates from Tech leaders on all items to track against the 'cost out' plan and to ensure that new ideas are also captured.
  • Consolidate and create reports for cost efficiency and cost optimisation plan, detailed quarterly updates plus interim as needed.
  • Ownership for all related reporting to be clear, accurate and timely.
  • Responsible for ensuring all the relevant parties and meetings are setup at the required intervals, ensuring everyone in EMEA and Tokyo and regions are informed.
  • Provide necessary support for service catalogue team.
  • Providing management information regarding the service catalogue reporting and metrics when necessary (Regular;y and Adhoc)
  • Responsible for gathering data, loading data, building and modifying rules and allocations. Improve and evolve the service catalogue framework.
  • Manage coordination of gathering all inputs and information to create service catalogue budget and service catalogue actuals
  • Work closely with technology, finance, procurement, license management, service management and infra teams to obtain costs and data
  • Work with finance teams to ensure budget and service catalogue processes and financial information reconcile at all points, for EMEA and Securities International
  • Respond to adhoc queries and assistance from businesses, functions and projects with regards to service and system costs
  • Work on making a model to make the detail drilldown as self service as possible
  • Lead the analysis on the future toolset choice
  • Partner with Finance to agree and execute a migration plan from CAT to the service catalogue
  • Collaborate with businesses and functions and technology leads to embed understanding of service catalogue

Skills and Experience:

Functional / Technical Competencies:

  • Understand basic operations of Finance, procurement, license management, service management and Technology
  • Proficient in principles, methods, techniques and tools for the preparation and monitoring of budgets to minimise costs and ensure cost-effectiveness and in particular the economics of service delivery such as the cost of hardware, software, and manpower used to deliver the service.
  • Proficient in financial management within a service function.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to produce management information reporting for different audiences and different levels of seniority
  • Proven ability to produce standardised reporting including for senior management, within an IT function
  • Experienced in IT cost management, including cost optimisation
  • Understanding of the banking and securities technology domains
  • Experienced in planning methods and tooling, including MS Office suite
  • Proven ability to build positive relationships with key stakeholders in IT and other functions

  • Working knowledge of Anaplan would be beneficial
  • Also working knowledge and experience in Power BI and/or other related data visualization tooling
  • Experience in simplifying processes and reporting to improve efficiency
  • Any experience in building or using service catalogues would be beneficial
  • Detailed understanding or involvement in technology cost base analysis

Education / Qualifications:

  • Degree educated and / or equivalent experience.
