UK-Remote Overview
The Manager, HSEQ - EMEA is responsible for developing, maintaining, implementing, and improving our health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) management system. The Manager HSEQ, EMEA will be fully responsible for implementing safe systems of work and safe behavioural practices at all levels of our EMEA organization. This position provides HSEQ guidance to the organization and supports the operational process in order to maintain and continually improve safety culture and performance. It will also ensure HSEQ practices are aligned with the organization's needs to comply with Fortna's global objectives and local legal requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and improve HSEQ management systems, strategies, processes, and procedures to support business operations in accordance with legal requirements and accreditations
  • Communicate information on the HSEQ management system throughout the EMEA organization and promotes awareness through various communication channels to constantly improve our safety culture
  • Support the organization during the execution of safety-relevant processes
  • Prepare HSEQ documentation for clients and projects as per the requirements and in cooperation with the site and project teams
  • Conduct audits internally and with third parties (contractors) to evaluate the effectiveness of systems and procedures, identifying and assisting implementation improvements
  • Assist Fortna's leadership team in developing, managing, and monitoring the HSEQ performance of the EMEA organization
  • Actively participate in HSE incident investigations, prepare required reports in consultation with leadership, and ensure that preventative measures are implemented
  • Manage and liaise with HSEQ auditors to acquire/maintain Fortna's accreditations
  • Ensure legal compliance with existing and proposed legislation for coverage of remote sites within EMEA
  • Access and review regulatory, company, and client-driven safety manuals, policies, and procedures
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for all HSEQ matters, passing on relevant knowledge as required
  • Responsible for the execution of a CE/UKCA-compliance process within the organization with the responsible technical team members within projects
Education / Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of experience in one of the following disciplines: industrial, mechanical, or civil engineering, business, or industrial or construction management, or an equivalent level of education and experience. Experience should be as a minimum in the following:
  • A minimum of three years HSEQ experience at a safety management level
  • Experience working with quality management systems
  • Experience with the accreditation process and various accreditations like ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001
  • NEBOSH National Diploma
  • IOSH

Knowledge / Skills / Competencies:
  • Excellent knowledge of HSEQ principles within our industry or a comparable industry
  • Excellent knowledge of quality management systems
  • Highly-advanced listening, speaking, and written communication skills with extensive demonstrated application of the skills
  • Highly advanced skills for solving complex problems and developing solutions as well as teaching and developing others
  • Highly advanced presentation development and delivery skills
  • Ability to constantly drive safety and quality improvements
  • Ability to engage and influence others across all levels of the business
  • Ability to lead and drive cultural and behavioural change to create ownership in a diverse working environment
  • Ability to transfer knowledge to others in an efficient and scalable way
  • Highly proficient in MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio)
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally regularly

  • Education: Master's Degree, preferably in one of the following disciplines: Engineering, Project Management, or Business
  • German language skills at a conversational level highly desired
