Mechanical Engineer (R&D) £35-42k Base + Bonus

A mechanical engineer is urgently required as part of global R&D team for inventing, designing, and developing the next generation of novel world-class technology developments. You will be a key part of a rapidly growing Mechanical Engineering team within the global R&D department that targets to deliver the best overall experience.
As a mechanical engineer you will be working closely with other teams including the prototyping, testing and systems integration teams, you will be performing a wide range of tasks from 3D CAD and simulation and implement designs from 3D CAD design, simulation, prototype sample, reviewing technical data to generate innovative designs & testing.
Key Responsibilities
* To have accountability for the delivery of assigned activities across a portfolio of projects and activities.
* To be accountable for understanding consumer centric design principles, concept CAD design work including modifications, jig and fixture design and mocks ups.
* To hold mechanical engineering expertise to perform assigned tasks in the required time frames and contribute to schemes and creation of ideas in the development of new products and technology.
* To understand and perform tolerance stack analysis and apply GD&T requirements.
* To understand and define lab and testing techniques, required prototyping capabilities to perform assigned tasks in the required time frames to contribute to the testing of new products and technology.
* To minimise risk through awareness of best practices and compliance using technical knowledge and broad scientific principles to ensure effective delivery of an appropriate given task.
* To accurately record and securely store data generated by assigned activities.
* To be able to present and communicate findings from carried out activities using office & data management software.
Qualifications and Experience
* A Degree / HNC mechanical engineer, design engineer
* Ability to deliver against a portfolio of design / engineering tasks within defined timescales
* Experience of mechanical product design, design lifecycle, testing and knowledge of laboratory test equipment and methods
* Understanding of mechanical / product design, design lifecycle and testing.
* Some knowledge of mass manufacture and assembly.
* Research methodologies and data analysis.
* Creative and technical problem-solving skills and idea generation.
* Familiar with creating 3D CAD and technical drawings. Strong Microsoft Office skills.
* Understanding of product systems and rapid manufacture and assembly process techniques.
* Research methodologies and data analysis and ability to deliver against a portfolio of design / engineering tasks within defined timescales.
Full Time. Permanent Strong Base + Strong Bonus (up to 30%), 25 days annual leave Participation in Company Share Reward Scheme Company Pension Scheme.
