Stantec are looking to appoint a Senior Technician to join our busy multidisciplinary team in Reading/Oxford. Our portfolio of clients and work is expanding, and as such we are looking to find an appropriate candidate who can assist in leading our Building Information Modelling (BIM) team and support our aspirational growth plans. This role would suit an experienced BIM Technician who wishes to take the next step in their career by taking a lead role in the development of our BIM teams while remaining actively engaged in project delivery.

Our busy multi-disciplinary teams work on a diverse range of projects and we are looking for someone to strengthen the design and delivery of our structural engineering projects through the use and application of Building Information Modelling (BIM).
Joining an established team of structural engineers and technicians, you will provide an important role in the digital delivery of multi-disciplinary engineering projects across the UK, leading teams in the production of deliverables such as 3D Models, 2D drawings and non-graphical design data.
You will support the development of structural engineering designs by foreseeing design challenges and providing practical solutions using digital technology. You will work closely with your multi-disciplinary colleagues within Stantec to provide coordinated engineering design solutions to our clients. You will provide guidance to project teams, ensuring the most appropriate tools and technology are used to foresee design challenges and support solutions, while providing mentorship to junior staff and assisting in their career development, as well as continuing to focus on your own CPD.
Your projects will cross a range of building types and materials, requiring challenging engineering problem solving and creative thinking. Projects include large and small scale new-build developments, as well as work on renovation/remodelling and historic buildings.

You will have a HNC qualification in civil/structural engineering or equivalent.
You will have a proven track record in demonstrating good understanding of the wider engineering context of designs, drawings, and 3D models, while having awareness of structural engineering and building detailing. Proficient in computer aided drawing (CAD) and the use of AutoCAD, excellent understanding of the application of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and the use of Revit in the production of buildings and structural designs. You will have experience in developing and assisting with the development of project CAD & BIM procedures and quality control. You will also have the necessary skills and experience to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders where you will be working closely with clients, and other professional staff across multi-disciplinary business groups. Awareness of UK Industry BIM, standards, protocols and procedures is required.
