Behaviour Mentor/ mental health support worker

Veritas are working with a SEMH PRU based in Basingstoke. The school supports students with a range of Learning difficulties, many of the students have behavioural, emotional and social difficulties. This includes students with ADHD, and compulsive disorders.

The school are looking for committed TA's and Mentors to join their team and support across all year groups. The school are looking for staff that can commit long term.

An individual with previous SEN/mental health/ youth worker experience is desirable or someone that has previously worked at a challenging school.

This role will require resilience and strong behaviour management skills. A certificate in Team teach or MAPA is desirable. Responsibilities will include monitoring behaviour, helping to develop learning, social and communication skills and providing feedback to SLT.

The school is accessible by a number of local bus routes, and good access to the Docklands Light Railway. Parking is not available.

Key skills and experience needed:

Previous experience in mental health, SEN or youth mentoring
Team Teach or MAPA restraint training
Professional manor, committed and resilient
Enthusiastic and friendly approach
