Belmont Recruitment are currently in search of a Registered Qualified Senior Managing or Junior Police Report Assist Mental Health Specialist Social Worker (NQSW/SW) Band 5/6/7 to join the Single Point of Access (SPA) & Extended Computer Aided Test Tool (ECATT) Mental Health Team based out of Ealing in Greater Outer North West London. The role is Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm, however there is scope for flexibility so applicants who cannot work full time are still encouraged to apply, this is initially on an ongoing locum however this will most likely be made permanent.
The post holder will be responsible for screening and conducting telephone triages for Merlin Police referrals received, providing clinical expertise in supporting SPA clinicians and Mental Health Advisors in making decisions to ensure that patients are transferred into the appropriate secondary or primary mental health services, where there is an assessed need for that service. Screening or telephone triages indicate that specialist mental health care is not indicated, support staff in facilitating a safe discharge back to Primary Care with advice, also leading and monitoring the performance of the staff in the team. The post holder will also work closely with the team manager and deputise for them when required, ensuring safe and effective management of operations in the team, while providing leadership to all staff on delegated social care duties and legislation, specifically the Care Act, Safeguarding, Mental Capacity Act, DOLS/LPS and other social care issues as they arise. As well as the day to day leadership of the team, you will also be responsible for supporting clinical staff to take complex decisions regarding the planning and development of programmes of care. The post holder will act as the lead in difficult and complex situations that require strong leadership to resolve and to act as main point of contact should a major incident occur which requires robust management and co- ordination, also delivering supervision for junior colleagues, within a 24 hour 7 day a week rota system, ensuring that a comprehensive service is provided to patients and robust gatekeeping is maintained.
The pay rate for this locum role is between £19.52 - £32.52 per hour dependant on experience, however this is open for negotiation for someone with years of experience.
