Mechanical Fitter

Metalis are working with a well established company based in Leeds who manufacture machinery. They are looking for a mechanical fitter to join their team on a permanent basis.

General duties to include:

Machine assembly experience including power press machinery.
Including assembly of gears, bearings, seals, linkages etc.
Power press operation including principles and systems (beneficial but not essential)
Inspection and test of safety devices and guarding
Detection of defects
Tool setting
Safe working methodsIdeal Candidate:

Apprentice trained in mechanical engineering, fitting duties, or have demonstrable experience.
Experienced in detail fitting of components. Including use of hand tools, drilling, tapping, filing etc.
Machine assembly experience, including assembly of gears, bearings, seals, linkages etc.
Overseas travel to install and commissioning machinery is a possibility as is travel within the UK.
Press setting qualification would be beneficial but not essential.Package:

4 day working week (Mon-Thurs 7am-4:45pm)
Overtime payable time and a third Monday to Thursday and time and half Friday, Saturday and Sunday
