Premier Engineering has engaged with a key client and a world leader in design, manufacture, installation and management of process plant equipment/machinery based in Coventry. Due to team expansion and winning new projects an opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Fluid Intelligence Design Engineer leading a team of engineers and collaborating with other engineering divisions. Full life-cycle engineering from concept through to delivery. A background of Fluid Mechanics, potentially CFD or understanding of CFD would be advantageous.


Provide engineering support for development, design, manufacture, and delivery of our products.


1. Mechanical & electrical/electronic product design.

a. Create concept 3D design models

b. Generate Bill of Materials

c. Support production of CAD detail drawings necessary for project execution

d. Support production of CAD detail drawings necessary for sales and marketing

e. Support productions of sub-assembly drawings necessary for project execution

f. Develop design calculations to aid product standardisation

g. Support production of General Arrangement drawings using Inventor

h. Use NHE configuration system to generate and maintain drawings as applicable

i. Carry out design Risk Assessments, HAZOP, FEMA etc. as necessary

2. Project correspondence between all associated stakeholders

3. Preparing invitations to tender that satisfy the requirements of the project

4. Manage individual tasks within a project to include raising purchase requisitions & writing technical specifications

5. Develop and author operator/maintenance Manuals, installation, and commissioning guides

6. Testing & commissioning of new products

7. Arrange for necessary system commissioning and project sign off

8. Identify standards and regulations applicable to all product ranges and markets, ensuring that the products comply with all statutory requirements

9. Manage updates to standards and regulations and inform the business of any new legislation that will impact the business

10. Work to relevant standards and regulations applicable to our products

12. Liaison with cross functional groups to co-ordinate activities

13. Provide technical support to the global network

14. Deliver product/process training

15. Carry out all work in accordance with QMS

16. Participate in process improvement activities

17. Other duties that may be requested in association with the company's business

Qualifications / Experience

Professional Qualifications - HNC (min) Mechanical & Electrical Engineering or Electronics
Sound experience in IT infrastructure and architecture. Must have experience of Cloud based communication systems in an industrial environment, covering such things as Industry 4.0, IoT, AI, mobile devices & data storage.
Solid Engineering background with 5 years+ process experience in automotive, aerospace or similar manufacturing environment.
AutoCAD 2D and Autodesk Inventor 3D design package or similar
Experience and understanding standard regulations (e.g. CE Marking, risk assessments, systems and mechanics)

Specific Job Skills e.g.

Able to facilitate change management
Design of process equipment or similar
AutoCAD Inventor 2D and 3D design package/Solid Works
Computer literate with IT infrastructure and architecture skills
Attention to detail/logical
Ability to work to deadlines
Overseas work to include

Hours of Work:

Mon - Thurs 08.00 to 16.30
Fri - 08.00 to 15.15
