Main element of the role is to sell the portfolio of advanced wound care dressings, compression bandages & hosiery and anti-embolism stockings.
Field based role with extensive travel inside and outside of the region and occasional overnight stays.
Seen as a covert influencing sales approach but very much a market access role. Working in tandem with the Healthcare Partnership Management Team. Look to get products included on formularies.
Value add sales approach. Woking very closely with the wound care clinicians to educate in audits and changing/challenging current patient pathways.
Selling peer to peer. Ability to ask difficult/challenging questions - ask reasons why clinicians are doing things the way they are and show how to improve/change clinical application for better and quicker patient outcomes.
To function within national and regional business plans utilising clinical expertise to enhance the reputation of the client within the wound care market and increase market share.
To co-ordinate and assist in the development and the management of product evaluations and clinical case studies across the United Kingdom.
To deliver clinical projects that clearly demonstrate the "real world" impact of products.
To support the launch of new product ranges where appropriate.
To produce and publish clinical posters, case studies and articles in peer reviewed journals that will support dissemination of findings from product evaluations, clinical studies and clinician/patient experiences of products.
To support educational and commercial activities at a local and regional level by delivering added value activities including bespoke study events.
To support internal training departments to share and develop clinical knowledge and expertise that supports the product portfolio.
The Clinical Specialist will lead on the development of key relationships with clinicians identified as key opinion leaders (KOL's) within the NHS and relevant healthcare providers
Selling both the acute and community markets (approximately 80% of time in primary care and 20% acute).
Selling to and liaising with Tissue Viability Nurses, Vascular Nurse Specialists, Leg Ulcer Specialists, District Nurses, Practice Nurses, Treatment Room Nurses, Ward Sisters, Ward Clerks, Tissue Viability Link Nurses, Podiatrists, Nursing Home Nurses & Pharmacies.
They run approx. 2 campaigns a year.
Covering Wales, Gloucestershire, Wilshire, Avon, Dorset, Somerset, Devon & Cornwall
The Ideal Person:
The role requires up-to-date professional clinical registration which should be consistently maintained e.g. NMC.
Needs a clinical wound care expert.
Current active professional registration e.g. NMC.
Current valid UK driving licence.
Must have a strong clinical wound care background.
Willing to travel.
Proven experience within a wound care environment.
Clinical and operational experience of the NHS or NHS provided healthcare.
Ideally you will have experience within a commercial wound care environment.
Registered clinicians should be able to demonstrate contemporary knowledge and expertise in wound care practice.
