Polytec are looking for a Quality Control Engineer for our Cambridge based client to maximise their manufacturing processes through the application of best practice and continual improvement, predicting and eliminating quality issues ensuring quality, health, safety and environment requirements are met.


* Provide support with regard to Quality issues
* Goods Incoming QC activities
* Inspection and shipping approval of products
* Audits and approval of new, and monitoring of existing suppliers
* Collection of data and implementing actions with suppliers
* Liaising with suppliers on quality issues, returning materials as required
* Assist with facilitating Change Control processes
* Prepare product specific documentation
* Maintain Quality, HandS and Environmental systems to support Quality Manager
* Education and training of staff regarding Quality, HandS and Environment


* Hands-on experience in a production test and assembly environment of medium volume (10-100 per batch) electronic assemblies
* Ability to lead in problem solving techniques and applying solutions
* A keen desire to propose and implement manufacturing improvements
* Computer literate, able to use spreadsheets and perform statistical analysis
* Familiar with electromechanical assemblies
* Ability to design and run product reliability experiments
* Qualified Internal Auditor
* Good interpersonal skills for cohesive relationships at all levels
* Knowledge of electronic components within analogue/digital circuits would be beneficial
* Knowledge MRP systems would be an advantage
