Exciting opportunity for smart, commercially savvy shopper marketing specialist marketer with this global player in fast-moving consumer healthcare category working with multiple grocers and chemist/drug mults. 12 month contract for immediate start.

Head west of London for this exciting opportunity to lead the shopper marketing & category agenda for a portfolio of consumer healthcare brands in the dynamic and innovative OTC market. In this key role, you'll be bringing the voice of the shopper into the business - using your deep understanding of shopper profiles and behaviour to develop and deliver winning brand and category strategies across retail and eCommerce channels at the point of purchase. As the ambassador of category and shopper thinking in the business, you'll ensure that brand marketing strategy and customer needs are aligned to deliver a strong trade proposition in a business that is truly committed to moving forward at a pace and bringing in the highest calibre of people to support its growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Using your skills to drive a clear category and shopper-led mindset out across the business
  • Identifying shopper insights and owning shopper profiling to understand buyer behaviour for all categories and brands in the portfolio
  • Segment and target priority shopper profiles, mapping purchasing drivers and potential barriers
  • Building a deep understanding of customer and trade business dynamics and needs
  • Defining shopper strategies consistent with the brand positioning and driving impact in-store with relevant messaging and activity
  • Defining winning and disruptive initiatives to win in-store including pricing, visibility, in-store advertising
  • Identifying and explaining actionable insights to assist the sales team to have richer dialogues with customers
  • Developing future-focused category growth visions to ensure the business is a market leader in must-win categories
  • Developing and delivering annual shopper plan by channel
  • Ensure ROI effectiveness and boost strategy alignment to underpin a 'must stock list' based on shopper & consumer data
  • Offering guidance on category merchandising for all customers
  • Ensuring the execution of sustainable POSM initiatives
  • Owning the financials and monitor and driving monthly, quarterly and annual achievement of strategic objectives

  • Robust shopper, customer or category marketing experience gained in a leading FMCG or OTC environment, ideally with experience in eCommerce shopper campaigns too
  • Understanding of shopper journey touchpoints
  • Commercial savvy and a good grasp of the UK retail environment
  • A good grasp of shopper and retail/category insight data
  • Excellent communication and project management/organisational skills
  • Autonomy and ability to balance long-term strategic priorities with short-term business needs
  • Strong team player with a can-do attitude and drive for achievement
