Electrical Panel Design Engineer - (Industrial Instrumentation / Process Instrumentation / Automation)

As an Electrical Panel Design Engineer reporting to the Group Engineering Manager, you will be involved in many aspects of automation panel production. You will be responsible for providing quotations, the design and production of technical drawings, the sourcing and specification of components and where necessary supervise the build, test and despatch of completed panels.

Main Responsibilities
  • You will fully understand the customer's requirements and translate these into a control panel or enclosure design that meets all local or national standards.
  • You will create quotations that are accurate and describe to the customer exactly what we will deliver, are competitive and protect our margins and interests.
  • You will liaise with Project Engineers and the customer regarding panel design requirements, specification, and contract review.
  • You will complete third-party equipment requisitions and liaise with the purchasing department or suppliers for price and delivery information
  • You will design and prepare the wiring and general arrangement drawings for customer review.
  • You will design and prepare the production drawings for panel manufacture.
  • You will provide help and advice to the Panel Supervisor; panel build staff or contractors to solve technical build problems.
  • You will maintain the technical drawing register database.
  • You will work with Project Engineers and production schedulers to ensure we meet panel delivery timeframes.
  • You will assist with panel testing in accordance with the panel test specification.
  • You will assist in project delivery and complete project documentation in accordance with the relevant Endress+Hauser standards and procedures.
  • You will complete internal time registration and any other defined cost control or project management procedures.
  • You will work across industries within the Endress+Hauser customer database and comply with local and industry standards, procedures and codes of practice.
  • You will provide support to other Endress+Hauser departments and customers as deemed appropriate.


Qualification + Profile
  • You will ideally be qualified to ONC/HNC level preferably in Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation and Control
  • You will have completed a recognised apprenticeship in the above disciplines and have a minimum of 5 years process automation experience
  • You will be familiar with both analogue and digital signal transmission techniques.
  • You will have Hazardous areas and ATEX knowledge
  • You will have relevant AutoCAD experience
  • You will hold a qualification in the 18th edition of IET Wiring Regulations
  • You will be highly self-motivated and have the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
  • You will have a flexible approach to working activities
  • You will be required to work to tight deadlines
