SCT/FT Lawyer / File Handler - Liability Team - Property Risk & Coverage

Keoghs LLP is one of the leading insurance law firms in the UK and can rightly claim to be amongst the most dynamic in its sector. We now have an exciting opportunity for a number of talented insurance lawyers to join our Property Risks & Coverage Team. These roles will be based in our Bolton office (north stand). Flexible working is encouraged for the right candidate. These role will be within the sub specialist under £100K liability property team.

The caseload involves acting for most of the leading UK insurers where you will be required to take a collaborative approach with those insurers. You will be part of a team where the lawyers each handle a case load of SCT/FT third party public liability property damage claims. The case load will include claims involving street furniture/Highways claims.

This role is suitable for a Paralegal with experience with a litigated PI caseload or an candidate with experience assisting in this area. The role is hybrid with up to 1 day per week in the office, this is flexible and based on each individual.

Key Accountabilities

These roles have a particular focus on third party public liability property damage claims and the work will involve dealing with the claims on a Delegated Authority basis. This is a team which has a high volume of cases in litigation so the ideal candidate will be able to handle multiple critical court deadlines occurring at any one time.

In addition to the above the candidate may become involved in strategic litigation relating to claims presented by Highways England.

Essential Skills and Attributes

• Previous litigation experience

• Previous experience of running a caseload

• Experience of interpreting rules and looking for settlement opportunities

• Experience of commercial file handling

• High Education - degree level


• Previous defendant insurance litigation experience

• Knowledge of the sorts of disputes handling by the department

• Previous experience in insurance, property and coverage
