Promedia Digital is looking for a talented editor to take the helm of one of its B2B titles focused on the hospitality and catering equipment sector.

This busy and exciting role covering a multibillion pound industry will involve producing daily digital news content covering topics relating to industry suppliers, products and projects, as well as managing a monthly print magazine.

You will have the chance to get out into the market as much as possible, interview industry decision-makers and compile features on key topics that businesses in the industry are talking about.

You will also be required to attend regular industry events and trade shows, including key exhibitions overseas, and come up with new ideas to develop the title editorially and commercially.

Knowledge of the catering or hospitality sector would be an advantage, however the main attributes for the role include a passion for news writing, an understanding of how to create engaging content and a hardworking attitude.

The role would suit somebody with experience of editing a title already, or those currently in assistant / deputy editor positions looking to take a step up the career ladder.

Candidates will need to demonstrate an ability to write concise, interesting copy and enjoy the pressure of working to daily and monthly deadlines.

The ideal candidate will also enjoy the challenge of developing the title's social media presence and using SEO to improve market engagement.

Promedia's hospitality industry titles include Catering Insight and Foodservice Equipment Journal.

Your key roles and responsibilities
  • Managing the website and producing a daily industry news alert
  • Developing exclusive content for the monthly print edition
  • Contributing to sister titles
  • Building relationships with key industry executives and companies
  • Overseeing social media channels
  • Working closely with the commercial team to drive revenue growth
  • Developing brand extension opportunities
  • Co-managing networking events
  • Representing the title at exhibitions and industry events

Your skills and expertise
  • A passion for news writing and an eye for original, engaging content
  • Impeccable writing and subbing skills, despite challenging deadlines and workload
  • Strong computer literacy across desktop packages and content management systems
  • Additional skills including Adobe InDesign, video and photography are highly prized
  • Social media and SEO skills
  • Excellent commercial awareness
