As a Java Software Engineer, you will be part of the team building functional products and applications. This involves translating acceptance criteria into design, writing clean and efficient code for various applications, and running tests to improve system functionality. Ultimately, you'll implement and maintain Java components and frameworks in our microservice architecture software throughout the development lifecycle.

- Prioritise and execute tasks in the software development lifecycle
- Write well-designed, efficient code based on feature specifications and testable code
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems
- Design database architecture
- Test and debug Java applications
Required skills or experience:
- Hands-on experience with programming in Java
- Interest in agile methodologies
- Experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer
- Experience designing interactive applications
- Experience with test-driven development
- Good knowledge of popular Java frameworks like JSF and Spring MVC
- Problem-solving skills
- Experience of working in a dynamic environment often with shifting priorities
- Knowledge of any of Docker, Kubernetes, Message Brokers: RabbitMQ/Kafka
Desirable skills and experience:
- Spring Boot
- Microservice Architecture
The technology and tools you will be using:
- Tools: Helm, Git, Visual Studio Code, IntelliJ, Postman, Clubhouse and Miro
- Tech Stack: Spring Boot, Java, JS, NodeJS , PHP and VueJS
- Platform: Kubernetes, AWS, Oracle
- Databases: Mongo and Postgres, amongst others.
