Before jumping to conclusions, it's important to highlight this opportunity is not for one of the big retail banks.
You're not going to be joining a massive team in a role that's heavily siloed.
Instead, what you're going to find is a business made up of just a couple of hundred people, in an environment that's a little different to your normal banking one. Where the emphasis is on ethical banking, and a strong interest in CSR and sustainability.
The company's product range is split across savings and finance products, both regulated and unregulated.
Role wise, you're going to find this opportunity more diverse than most in this field. Principally because of the size and complexity (or lack thereof) of the business itself, which means a more rounded set of opportunities and responsibilities for you to own.
Whether it's through creating press releases and PR campaigns to support a new product launch. Promoting the company's CSR and sustainability credentials. Planning and delivering PR events to raise the company profile, increasing brand and reputation, handling media relations, or putting them into relevant awards programmes and other novel ideas and ways to raise the brand. It's all under your watch.
You will have the autonomy to put your skills, experience and raw talent in storytelling and PR to good use, in a position that's a mix of thinking and orchestrating things, putting in place some sort of order and process, as well as coming up with your own PR and event concepts.
You're going to be reporting to the head of communication, who in turn reports to the company C-Suite. Which means you're just two steps away from the boardroom, and the ability to influence decisions that matter.
You will also have the support of an external PR agency, with you briefing our projects and managing their performance too.
One of your key measures of performance will be the ability to talk about successes your PR programme has achieved.
Be that through things like earned media which translates to saved advertising costs, or maybe the impact you're having on brand awareness or purchase intent.
There's going to be a decent amount of variety here, and lots of opportunity to bring in thinking to this role and environment. WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE
