Junior Account Executive - Cobham, Surrey / WFH

Salary £25,000 DOE plus benefits

We are recruiting a Junior Account Executive for a privately owned advertising and marketing agency, established for over 40 years. They are predominantly B2B based and due to recently winning new business, they now require a Junior Account Executive to support their existing Senior Account Manager on a hybrid basis.

Job Description

The Junior Account Executive will undertake the following:

Core Job Skills
  • Support the account management team with day to day tasks and client requests
  • Gain an understanding of client structure and roles
  • Attend client meetings and take minutes
  • Helping the team to create prompt contact and status reports - checking and proof reading these as necessary
  • Help fulfil client requests promptly and accurately - build reputation among clients for this
  • Ability to build client confidence in the agency and its ability to deliver
  • Ensure the smooth running of day-to-day activities - including being responsible for/ or helping with setting up of meetings and meeting rooms, equipment (audio/visual), taxis, keeping shared diary up to date, telephone cover
  • Knowledge and adherence to the IT protocol i.e. filing, back up etc (training will be given)
  • Intermediate skills for Microsoft Office, PPT, Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Good working knowledge of Synergist (training will be given)
  • Good understanding of digital and social media channels

Communication skills
  • Endeavour to have face to face or telephone contact where possible to build relationships
  • Consistent, clear and professional written and oral communication skills
  • Be helpful, supportive and positive

Project management and planning
  • Ability to set priorities, manage tasks and take responsibility
  • Appreciation of variations in timescales required to deliver different parts of the project
  • Awareness of deadlines and ability to help the accounts team deliver on time and on budget

Relationship building (internal and external)
  • Actively develop relationships with people from other departments
  • Be part of the team working on pitches or other agency activities
  • Attendance and contribution to departmental meetings

Analytical / conceptual skills (these aren't expected but will hopefully be developed)
  • Understanding of various external copy approval protocols and adhere to them
  • Supporting the team in evaluating creative and studio work constructively
  • Supporting the team with feedback, insight and market knowledge
  • Supporting the team to work through message development appropriate to the brief and target audience

Financial project management
  • Understanding of the Synergist system and accurate record keeping (training will be given)
  • Understand the importance of prompt and efficient billing and its effect on Agency cash flow
  • Help to produce Statement of Works and quotes (training given)
  • Understand the importance of time logging on the agency financial planning (training given)
  • Manage client billing and regular budget reconciliations (training given)
