As a IT Help Desk Officer you will require knowledge and experience across software, hardware and security to meet the needs of the role. Being multi-faceted, it requires a dynamic individual who can multi-task and prioritise administration and support tasks and demonstrate previous hands-on experience. It will require a high degree of organisation to manage within tight deadlines whilst assuring very high-quality output. Meeting the needs of our team in providing advice, support and guidance will be crucial. To be successful in this position for an IT Help Desk Officer, you will have a strong desire and commitment to learn. Building on this, we will support you to develop and grow technically and professionally to keep abreast of the latest technologies and best practices. In addition, you should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to confidently engage with any of the team in a professional way.Key activities of a IT Help Desk Officer will include but not limited to:
  • Systems administration
  • Service monitoring and communication
  • Connectivity support
  • Providing software and hardware support to users via the Service Desk
  • Monitoring system usage and improving with user training
  • Monitoring system performance and service health
  • Monitoring and constantly improving security
  • Other IT-related tasks as directed by your Line Manager

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the below:
  • Providing IT helpdesk support for the organisation and its customers
  • Providing Service Desk cover in the absence IT Manager for both internal and external customers.
  • Resolving user software and hardware issues
  • Educating users when they are not sure how best to do something
  • Tracking and monitoring tickets through to satisfactory conclusion
  • Adding, updating, and removing users as required, including role assignments
  • Connectivity support
  • Supporting users in the secure use of internet at the office and elsewhere
  • Supporting in the delivery of new or updated IT solutions
  • Help with performing the organisation's annual Cyber Essentials+ certification
  • Monitor the performance, health and security of systems in use
  • Communicate specific issues to affected users through to conclusion
