Hoop Professional Services are working with a truly amazing opportunity based in South Wales that truly make a difference in their community who are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join them permanently. This is a new role within their business and pivotal to their strategic development.

Purpose of the role:

The purpose of this role is to ensure accounting and related services are provided and that all financial management information is prepared and presented in a timely manner. This role is responsible for ensuring that all appropriate financial accounting standards are adhered to across the business.

Duties include:
  • Provide the full range of financial management services to the business units within the designated business area
  • Acting as the principal contact for all budget holders through providing advice on financial administration, advice on financial systems & procedures
  • Directly manager a team of two responsible for the full range of financial services for the business area
  • Produce budget estimates in accordance with corporate guidelines and bringing together information from all business areas
  • Provide management and financial accounting information to difference business areas
  • Provide monthly and quarterly forecasts including expenditure and income of all business areas and work with managers to address any issues and their implications to delivery
  • Interpret business areas financial results and determine any key focus areas
  • Quantify the financial impacts of proposed changes to ensure the managers understand the financial impact of their decisions
  • Proactively work with senior management team on process improvements and efficiencies in operations
  • Review the balance sheet
  • Ensure all financial grant claims, statutory returns and statistical returns are completed within detailed timeframes
  • Providing trend analysis and interpreting implications to delivery
  • Continually review processes and procedures used by the business areas and highlight any areas for improvements or reengineering
  • Represent the business and present financial information and reports to external stakeholders
  • To close the accounts in accordance with relevant statutory requirements and within tight deadlines
  • Analyse, review and implement reports to improve financial systems and controls

Person Specification:
  • Qualified Accountant - ACCA / ACA / CIMA / CIPFA or equivalent
  • An understanding of financial systems and accounting principles
  • Complex budget management is absolutely essential
  • Work in a demanding, complex role with a high degree of conflicting priorities
  • Ability to present complex financial information to non-finance teams is essential
  • Experience reengineering complex financial processes and working across a business to ensure this is done effectively
  • IT literate and analytical, confident with systems and processes
  • Experience in managing / coaching staff
