Denholm is excited to be partnering with a registered Scottish Charity who have an opportunity for an experienced Accountant to join the team as Finance Manager on an initial fixed term basis with immediate start. This is a key hire for the organisation, and you will be joining a friendly and supportive team with the opportunity to work flexibly. Remote/Hybrid working available. Option to be based in Glasgow or Edinburgh.

You are a technically strong individual with a clear understanding and experience of supervising or managing individuals within an accounting function. You will lead a small team with responsibility for overseeing the financial and management accounting duties of the finance department. As Finance Manager, you will have the opportunity to use your experience to improve processes and implement ideas and changes to current working practice, ensuring all financial objectives are met. You will liaise with key stakeholders, providing finance business partnering to support with key decisions. The Finance team are responsible for producing monthly management accounts, preparation of statutory accounts, vat returns, charity returns and payroll. As Finance Manager you will be responsible for financial reporting, ensuring all deadlines are met, implementing changes to systems and processes, cash flow management, reviewing accounts and liaising with auditors. You will also have involvement in overseeing and leading projects.

You are a qualified and experienced Accountant with experience of supervising or leading others. You will bring excellent organisational and communication skills and you can liaise confidently with key stakeholders. You will ideally hold a full accounting qualification however applications will be accepted from both Qualified by experience and part qualified individuals. Knowledge of the not-for-profit sector and SORP is essential.
