Teach Now are looking for experienced teaching assistants with a good understanding of working with special needs students, autism to be specific, who are looking for long term positions this term one form entry primary school that I work with in Finchley Central, the role is to start in September 2021, but for the right candidate the school could take you on sooner.
You will be working with a Year 5 boy, with a diagnosis of Autism. He is minimally verbal and tends to echo language. He also has learning needs and requires things breaking down into very small achievable steps. He is very passive and vulnerable. He has no behaviour issues but will sit very quietly and needs coaxing out of himself.
He needs support with social interactions and all areas of his learning. We require someone who has experience of supporting a child with complex needs, preferably Autism.
Normal school hours are 8:15am - 4pm Monday - Friday, term time only.
The primary school is a warm and friendly one form entry primary school in Finchley. The school are looking for individuals that are:
• Experienced working with SEN students
• Experience working with Autsim would be an added bonus
• Excellent communication skills, the ability to use initiative and work well under pressure.
• Be able to differentiate work to support needs of children.
• Experience in working with special needs children
