Assistant Accountant

About the role:

A fast-growing private equity backed property company with a large existing portfolio are currently seeking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join their team. This role will involve a focus on accounts payable processes. Main responsibilities include:

• Managing the life cycle of a wide range of invoices (e. overheads, council tax, utilities)
• Reconciling purchase ledger accounts
• Supporting with preparation of manual payments and weekly payment runs
• Building rapport with external stakeholders to maintain accounts and obtain necessary invoices and statements
• Handling various mailboxes, ensuring queries are dealt with both efficiently and promptly

The successful candidate will:

• Part qualified and actively studying towards CIMA/ACCA qualification
• Have solid, proven experience in:
  • Purchase ledger processes (invoices, payments, reconciliations)
  • Posting bank transactions and bank reconciliations
  • Handling a high volume of transactions
  • Producing as hoc reports and analysis
• Be confident using Microsoft software (Excel, Word and Outlook)
• Possess solid communication skills and a real ability to support the wider team
