Payroll Officer (Part-Time / Flexible)
£25K Pro Rata
25 hours per week. Either 3 full days or 5 days school hours.
Howells Solutions are working with a leading Construction Main Contractor to find a successful and proactive Payroll Officer to join their team based in Elland.
You will be responsible for supporting 2 businesses within the group, processing 2 separate payrolls using Sage 50 Payroll - including calculation and processing of all deductions, salary changes, bonus payments, tax code changes, and overtime for review by the Head of Finance. Your daily duties will include:
Collating timesheets, calculating overtime rates for employees, leavers, absences and data changes each month for payroll
Processing of leavers through payroll software as well as submission of FPS and production of payment file every month
Preparing payroll journals for Management Accountant for upload into the finance software
Analysis of payroll costs for management accounts by service line and business units
Logging of company vehicles with HMRC, calculation and submission of P11D forms following payroll year-end
Completing all reporting at payroll year-end, including P60 forms and year-end online submissions
Responding to all payroll queries and communicating with line managers and HR
Responsibility for pension maintenance including auto-enrolment and monthly submission of deductions and direct debit
Assisting when required with the processing of staff expenses every month for review by the Head of Finance
Helping Sales Ledger on an ad hoc basis with the chasing of customer retentions for paymentPayroll Officer Experience:
Previous payroll experience essential
Sage 50 Payroll
Sage 200 desirable but not critical
2 years minimum experience in a similar rolePayroll Officer Salary & Benefits:
