Summary of the role
IQE is transforming the way in which it does business. We're looking for an exceptional Senior Legal Counsel to support the business' legal and compliance objectives.
You'll provide commercially-focused legal and compliance advice across IQE's global teams. You'll be focussed on delivering excellent advice on supply agreements, research and joint development agreements, non-disclosure agreements and in supporting the legal team to develop and support the business as it enters a phase of growth.
You'll identify risks and contribute to their mitigation, and provide specialist training for our people. You'll interact with a range of individuals including representatives from technology, sales, senior leaders and external counsel.
You will take responsibility for IQE's day-to-day legal and compliance activities and support IQE's General Counsel & Company Secretary with strategic and complex matters.
Key Responsibilities
To negotiate, draft and advise on a variety of commercial contracts, with a particular focus on supply agreements
To support and guide our sales and research & development teams with contract-related issues and negotiation
To work with and support other members in the legal team
To support the General Counsel with the development of the legal function
To work with our external advisers where appropriate
To provide training and guidance to non-specialists
To maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and practices
Qualifications / Essential Skills
England and Wales qualified with around 4 to 6 years' PQE
Experience in a variety of commercial contracts
Experience in a technology business
Enthusiasm and drive to support the business through a period of change
The ability to communicate legal matters to non-legal personnel in a clear and concise manner
The ability to work autonomously
