Summary of the site
Cygnet Alders Clinic is a 20 bed rehabilitation service providing assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for women with personality disorder and complex needs. Cygnet Alders Clinic is on the Welsh Hospital Framework with specialist service status. We provide a specialist psychologically informed personality disorder pathway across three living areas; Severn, Avon and Coln, which patients move through as they progress and engage with their treatment pathway, from assessment through to transitioning back into the community.
Our close-knit multi-disciplinary team is led by a consultant psychiatrist and includes psychology, drama therapy, occupational therapy, and specialist mental health nurses, all of whom are fully trained and accredited. We work closely as a team formulating with each patient what their needs are and how best we can support them to achieve these.
As a specialist Occupational Therapist, you will supervise a band 5 occupational therapist. The team also benefit from the support and expertise of an OT assistant and an activity coordinator. You will also provide direct clinical care following an agreed model of service for a defined caseload. The hospital has a wide range of therapeutic facilities, promoting positive risk-taking and the development of life skills for community living. We would like to develop our sensory room further and our provision of sensory strategies in Alders.
