Location: Southwark, South London
Salary: £32000 - £47000 per annum
Starts: September 2022
Contract: Full Time, Permanent

GSL Education is currently looking to appoint an exceptional and experienced Head of Biology for one of our client secondary schools in South London. This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding teacher ready to take on additional responsibilities. This is a permanent role from September 2022.
About the role:

To be accountable for leading, managing and developing the subject area.
To raise standards of student attainment and achievement within the whole subject/curriculum area and to monitor and support student progress.
Ensuring the delivery of an appropriate, comprehensive, high quality and cost effective curriculum and leading development of the subject and its delivery
Student outcomes (including ensuring the effective operation of target setting, monitoring and evaluation systems and the input and maintenance of accurate student data)
Pastoral system (including being a form tutor to a selected group of students)The successful candidates will:

Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree, and, ideally, management training
Have the ability to teach Biology at KS4 and preferably KS5 Biology
Have experience of initiation and effective management of change
Have the ability to identify and develop appropriate teaching methods and resources to fulfill students' varying demands in practical and written work.
