You'll join our contact centre team at DWP Digital. We have one of the biggest contact centre operations in Europe - millions of people contact our agents every day - so it's an amazing place to develop your test skills.

You will be part of the team that tests applications which support DWP's operational, analytical and reporting needs and help us be better at what we do.

You will be part of a multi-functional agile delivery team, with engineers, DevOps and other testers, to contribute directly to delivering test solutions.

Day to day you will:

Help test of applications which make up DWP's operational, analytical and reporting services. You'll develop you're an expert understanding of Software Development Lifecycle and Test Engineering principles.
Do manual testing using tools such as Informatica, SAS and Putty and create SQL queries.
Work to Agile delivery principles, methodology & tools along with continuous integration, delivery & deployment concepts.
Help investigate and resolve defects and issues and ensure that usability, accessibility, security, stability and capacity for important services.
Contribute to community discussions around the latest technology trends, tools and best practices within test engineering, and help us improve.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

Experience in Functional Testing, creating test scripts and linking those back to requirements.
Experience in defect management and test reporting.
Awareness of Non-functional testing, Performance Testing, Operational Acceptance Testing, Accessibility Testing and Security Testing.
Awareness of Agile Methodologies including BDD (behaviour driven development) and TDD (test driven development).
Experience using modern collaboration tools (like Jira and Confluence).
Some experience of working in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment, delivering products within specific timescales and communicating effectively within your own team & with multiple stakeholders.
