One of the UK's leading providers of bespoke engineered materials is recruiting for an electrically-biased Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis, working on-site at their facility near Accrington. The role is offering a starting salary of £42,000 p/a and will involve a rotating shift pattern, with a training and development structure and multiple opportunities for career progression.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you'll be part of a growing Maintenance department providing breakdown and maintenance cover on a varied range of machinery and facilities. Your key responsibilities will include:
• Conduct accurate fault diagnosis, determine effective solutions and repair faults
• Raise concerns and propose solutions to repeat failures and breakdowns, taking ownership of these solutions
• Carry out preventative maintenance tasks to required standard, and provide suggestions for changes to improve overall equipment safety and reliability
• Conduct machine and facility checks during the shift to identify potential risks, failures or deterioration
• Conduct risk assessments prior to any maintenance work and ensure conclusions are implemented
• Assist with the closure of safety actions identified via audits, investigations or legal compliance
• Identify causes of reduction in output , then develop and recommend solutions
To be considered for this position, you'll need a strong background in reactive and preventative maintenance, with an electrical bias to previous roles in this field. You'll be certified to 17th or 18th edition regulations and be able to read electrical engineering drawings, ideally with some additional knowledge of facilities maintenance. Due to wide range of equipment this company use, your application will be of particular interest if you have experience working with pneumatics/hydraulics, or chain/sprocket/belt driven machinery. The manager is especially keen to hear from people who have experience of a wide range of motors, inverters, servos and DC drives, and who have worked with power circuits at 415V AC and control circuits at 24V DC.
