Cyber Security & Information Risks (CSIR) support HMRC to assess business and reputational risks. CSIR is responsible for ensuring everyone has the skills and capabilities to fulfil their security responsibilities and develop individual capability to detect, prevent and respond to all security risks and threats.

The role is based in a new Cyber Security project that is implementing new security tools and enabling existing functionality.

We are seeking an experienced solution architect, to work with Business Analysts and project team from the planning and Discovery phase, through the whole E2E project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

You will be writing options papers and solution designs, as well as supporting project delivery teams with the implementation/delivery.

Architecture design and documentation:

oCreate solution options papers and present to governance boards

oCreate solution design documents and present to governance boards

oActively seek and achieve stakeholder buy-in, including addressing risks, concerns and challenge as appropriate

oAdherence to HMRC architecture standards and strategy

oDesigns will include:

-Infrastructure design

-Software design

-Security considerations

-Compliance with legislation and regulations

-Licensing needs

-NFRs

Support the delivery team

oGovernance of the implementation, ensuring alignment with the design

oEscalate any issue to the architecture lead

oWorking with the business analyst and developers to agree solution details

Essential Skills:-

·Technical expertise is required with: Cloud infrastructure - Azure or AWS; Microsoft 365; infrastructure design; Cyber Security solutions; Network Infrastructure

·The ability to work with business and technology stakeholders to translate business problems into technical designs.

·Strong collaborative skills, including direct experience of influencing business colleagues.?

·Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.?

·Ability to build trust and credibility quickly and have the flexibility and willingness to partner with key stakeholders from all areas, both internal and external to HMRC

·Ability to translate technical concepts between software engineering, delivery?management, service management and business stakeholders so they are understood by all.

·Ability to look beyond the immediate problem and identify wider implications; understanding how work fits into the broader HMRC strategy and historical context.?

·Ability to work in a challenging environment, remaining patient, level -headed and staying calm under pressure.?

·Enthusiasm and self-motivation, team player

·Knowledge of IT Strategy and Development Lifecycle; Awareness of Business Analysis, Business Process Modelling and Requirement articulation.?

·Experience of working as an Architect within significant IT Change/Transformation programmes

·A sound, broad knowledge of IT, and an understanding of how the architecture specialism relates to other areas of IT and how it impacts on other business functions.?

·Application integration and awareness of programming techniques and languages, for example; APIs SOAP, Restful services, XML, JSON, Java, message routing and queuing technology

·Awareness of Agile delivery methodologies

·Awareness of Cost estimation and modelling
