The basics:
Job Title: Continuous Improvement Manager - shared services department
Location: Hybrid working. Ideally required in the Derby based Head office once a week. With sites to attend across the UK and some EU travel to sites.
Industry: Manufacturing, Precision Engineering, Aerospace - fabrication and machining.
Role: Permanent
Salary: £40,000 - £46,000 + £6k car allowance
Hours: Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-1pm (39hrs)
Overview:
With manufacturing sites located across the UK and EU we now require a Continuous Improvement Manager to lead, manage, direct and govern the businesses SQCDP and Gemba methodology and standards.
As the Continuous Improvement Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of measurable and validated results for a first class manufacturing business that produce precision engineered parts.
Key responsibilities of the Continuous Improvement Manager role:
Scope and assist in project definition for continuous improvement projects and guide the project team through all phases.
Oversee the collection and analysis of data and provide recommendations on the use of Lean and DMAIC tools.
Perform capability analysis and review statistical tests for accuracy.
Lead site-based project teams in the generation and evaluation of solutions and develop pilot and control plans to ensure project gains are sustainable
Lead Process Optimization workshops and be knowledgeable in the Agile Scrum methodology, Jira and Product Manager/Owner roles.
Support the process improvement program through the development and delivery of process improvement material and training and participate in the development and maintenance of the Process Improvement standards and methods, utilizing industry best practices.
Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced Associates such as Green Belts. May also participate on project teams outside of the functional area as a subject matter expert.
Support and drive innovative strategies, be cognizant of the evolving continuous improvement external and internal landscape and capable of enabling new strategies
Coach indirect reports on project performance and support business partners to bring their Process Optimization journeys to life.
Interact and partner with all levels of the organization on cross functional Process Improvements
Complete special projects as assigned
Decisions pertaining to the definition, analysis, implementation and control of process improvement initiatives
Governance and report on adherence to on-going Site SQCDP and Gemba audits.
The ideal Continuous Improvement Manager will have as many of the following in order to strengthen application:
Six Sigma Black belt or green belt certified
Experienced in Lean and DMAIC tools
Strong presentation and communication skills
Team building, coaching skills
Previous experience working as a Continuous improvement engineer or Continuous improvement manager/similar
Commutable from: Derby, Long Eaton, Sandiacre, Loughborough, Nottingham, Burton, Lichfield and surrounding areas
