Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a specialist school in Berkshire to recruit a friendly and motivated Teaching Assistant. This role will involve supporting students in their learning by either working with individuals or groups of students. You will also contribute to the assessment, planning, recording, monitoring, and reporting of students' progress.

Experience of working with students with Special Education Needs would be an advantage, but not essential. We are looking for creative and enthusiastic applicants who will make a positive contribution to achieving the best outcomes for pupils.

This school caters for students from the ages of 4-19 who have SEND with a primary diagnosis of Autism. Classes are small (max 8 in Secondary), and staff training is comprehensive. Main tasks and Responsibilities:

To assist in the educational and social/emotional development of pupils and students under the direction and guidance of the headteacher, assistant headteacher and class teacher.
To assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.
To monitor pupils' responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement/progress as directed.
To establish productive working relationships with pupils/students, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
To work with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational and clinical psychologists as required.
Person Specification:

Ability to be flexible in your approach.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Willingness to undertake inhouse and external training and to develop within the School.
Ability to use own initiative.
Passion for working in education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
