We are urgently seeking an experienced Programme Manager to deliver comprehensive, high quality, cost effective and timely Project /Programme Management and Improvement services for our local government client based in Bexleyheath, London.

The Programme Manager will develop robust business cases for projects or programmes - primarily focused on savings projects and improvement projects - that stand up to scrutiny and are achievable in reality, ensuring decisions are made in timely and fully evidenced manner that stand up to Member and public scrutiny, including writing Member and Board level reports and engagement with key partners and stakeholders.They will develop strategies for efficient and effective delivery of agreed programmes and develop strategies to mitigate risks and address issues including developing and agreeing alternative approaches if necessary.Ideal candidates will demonstrate the following:
  • Appropriate qualification or equivalent training/experience in project management methodologies
  • Project Management training preferably including portfolio or programme management and agile project management
  • Experience of programme management and project management including managing project teams.
  • Experience of working in local or central government, a major public sector organisation or other large multi functional organisation
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to prepare clear and concise reports on complex issues and in formats suitable for a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrate a high standard in producing reports and business cases with the ability to present these verbally and in writing.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with local government experience.
