Spencer Clarke Group are working closely alongside a Local Authority in West Yorkshire to assist with the appointment of a Traffic Engineering Manager on an initial 6-month contract.

We are looking to speak to experienced Civil or Traffic Engineers, with extensive experience in Highways design and construction, management of road safety, and road safety audits who have ideally worked for a Local Authority previously.

The post holder will be responsible for managing a team to deliver a range of traffic engineering highway schemes. The schemes will provide solutions to highway problems, reduce congestion and disruption and improve road safety, it will also improve access, jobs to meet the districts jobs and growth agenda. The post manages all customer service enquiries relating to traffic management throughout the district

The purpose of the role includes the management of the road safety team to deliver the school crossing patrol service and road safety education and promotion,

Contract Details

Pay Scale - INSIDE IR35 - up to £50 per hour (the hourly rate is negotiable, so please still get in touch if you work to a higher rate)

Location - Remote Working when not required on site

Contract Length - 6-months

To be considered, you must have the following qualifications/experience;

- HNC / Level 5 in Civil Engineering or equivalent in Traffic Engineering

- Detailed Knowledge and Understanding of Traffic Signs Regulations

- Knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads & Bridges

- CDM Regulations knowledge

- Extensive experience in Highways design and construction

- Experience in the management of road safety and associated legislation and guidance

- Extensive experience of road safety audits
