Assistant Accountant£26,000 - £28,000 + BonusAila is excited to announce that we're exclusively partnered with an exciting, passionate and forward-thinking global leader in the Sports manufacturing industry in Milton Keynes, as they look to hire an Assistant Accountant for an exhilarating division within their finance team, looking after an international subsidiary.This company has an inclusive, collaborative and energetic culture with an exciting future and a year on year sales growth of over 40%.This role will suit somebody with experience in an Accounts Assistant role with all round transactional exposure, that's now looking to step up and get more involved in month end work such as accruals, prepayments, VAT, monthly P&L journals and balance sheet reconciliations. When you're in their team, you're taken care of, encouraged to learn and grow, and given lots of opportunities to do so.Reporting to the Accountant who has been with the business for over 4 years, you will be part of a talented and committed finance team, employing your first class technical and communication skills to drive a high-performance culture: doing the basics brilliantly and possessing excellent attention to detail.Some Key Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for the books of operations, including maintaining the trial balance and intercompany accounts
- Process all AR and AP documents through Basware
- Process company credit cards through SAP Concur
- Responsible for issuing & collecting competition income and sponsorship invoice
- Posting of all monthly Profit & Loss journals, ensuring an accurate P&L position by WD2
- Maintain accurate accruals, prepayments and fixed asset register
- Reconciliation of bank accounts and supplier balances
- Prepare weekly cash flow forecast
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations on time every month, ensuring all balances are well understood & documented, supporting a 'no surprises' culture
- Maintenance of VAT records and preparation of returns where applicable
- Deliver business information and other customised reports to stakeholders in a language they can understand
- Able to build relationships with and add value to customers and colleagues
- Supporting annual budget submission
