Compliance Officer - Pharmaceutical Code - Permanent - Hybrid Working - Reading

Search by SRG are working with a dynamic family-owned pharmaceutical business to hire a Compliance Officer specialising in the pharmaceutical code (ABPI and IPHA) to work alongside the Final Signatories.

The Compliance Officer acts as an internal advisor to the wider company for any issues of compliance, use of the company compliance systems and company standards within compliance. You will ensure that the UK and Ireland team of marketing, field-based sales and medical teams are providing medically accurate information and relevant legislations across multiple therapy areas, with a focus on iron deficiency and anaemia. Iron deficiency anaemia is a disease which accounts for ~2% of the total global disease burden and your role will directly impact the health of people across the UK and Ireland. You will join a business who are growing their position in the UK market by 20% year on year and work with a team of individuals who care about making a difference to patients lives

Your responsibilities will be:
  • Contribute to the development of promotional and non-promotional materials to ensure company meets legal and compliance obligations
  • Act as a contact for the UK team (sales/marketing/medical) as well as global colleagues, supporting and advising on compliance requirements
  • Working with the medical and commercial teams to ensure prioritisation of workload
  • Provide regular compliance training on all matters of compliance such as updates on ABPI & IPHA codes, MHRA Blue Guide and compliance approval processes or case studies.
  • Identify gaps in compliance processes and work with Compliance Manager to implement improvements
  • Mentor and guide Compliance Administrators
  • Ensure compliance SOPs are current and approved for use, identify need for new SOPs and work with team to produce these
  • Support transfer of value disclosure requirements
  • Conduct audits on code compliance activities

To be successful in this position you will have:
  • Some experience working within a pharmaceutical company or allied business requiring application of code requirements/code materials
  • Understanding of the ABPI, EFPIA Codes of Practice, MHRA Blue Guide and BHBIA guidelines (IPHA is also beneficial)
  • Experience using Veeva Vaults desirable
  • Education to BSc level or equivalent (experience will be considered in lieu of degree)

The role is hybrid working, split between the UK head office (2 or 3 days per week) in Reading and home working. Occasional travel for external meetings also needed including international travel.
