In-House Tax Manager (12 month maternity cover) - Liverpool / Fully remote - Circa £55,000 + Benefits

Our client is a large European business that is a seeking an experienced Tax Manager or Accountant with considerable tax knowledge to cover a 12 month maternity cover.
  • Preparation of tax accounting disclosures for group and subsidiary statutory accounts.
  • Corporate tax planning and compliance, including preparation and management of the year-end tax computations, control of tax payments, and support in tax planning initiatives such as tax rate management.
  • VAT compliance, including preparation and review of VAT returns, and advice and guidance to the business on transactional VAT implications.
  • Management of employee tax compliance, and advice and guidance to HR on employee tax issues.
  • Ownership of all tax related P&L and balance sheet numbers as part of the month end close process.
  • Supporting the planning process by providing group tax forecasts.
  • Assist in evaluating, monitoring and mitigating tax compliance risks, and advising of where changes in tax laws will affect the group.
  • Betting duty compliance, including calculation, payment & reporting of betting taxes in the jurisdictions where the group holds licenses.
  • Ad-hoc tax project work to benefit the business (e.g. R&D claims, corporate reorganisations etc.)
  • Design and implementation of group transfer pricing policies, and maintenance of supporting agreements and transfer pricing documentation.Development of our tax systems.
  • HMRC relationship management and lead role in tax enquiry responses.
  • Assist the Financial Controller with tax related stakeholder requests and corporate accounting where needed.

Ideally you will possess proven practical experience of working in a Tax environment with Tax planning and compliance experience gained in either Industry or Practice. We also welcome applications from experienced accountants whom may have considerable tax knowledge. Ideally, you will be qualified ACA / ACCA / CTA or equivalent with strong communication skills and an organised approach to work. We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter who has strong commercial awareness and someone who is not afraid to propose and then drive change.
