A small 'Outstanding' special educational needs school based in Islington catering for students aged between 13 - 19 years old with autistic spectrum disorders and Speech and Language Difficulties to join them ASAP.
The successful teaching assistant will be required to provide 1:1 classroom support. As a special needs teaching assistant you will also be required to develop their social communication, interaction and interpretation skills and play an active role in developing their confidence, self-esteem and independence.
The ideal special needs teaching assistant will need to be committed to providing support to learners with a range of needs, be flexible in your approach and able to work as part of a team.
The school is looking for Special Needs teaching assistants with excellent communication skills, a good sense of humour and lots of patience and enthusiasm. Previous experience with SEND is a requirement. Understanding and experience of using Makaton, PECs and sensory approaches are advantageous but not essential.
This is a full time, long term role to start ASAP and will continue until the end of the academic year.
Pay - £78 - £100 a day
