Reports to: Service Team Senior Supervisor
Lead a team of staff to complete Modification/Service work on Customer premises ensuring that work is completed safely and to a satisfactory standard, and that all Company and Customer policies are complied with by the team whilst on site.

*Ensure the Health and Safety of yourself and staff at all times, and that all staff have read and acknowledged Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work and work within the specified controls at all times.
*Ensure that all necessary PPE is available for yourself and your team for the tasks being completed. Stop the job if the correct PPE is not provided/used.
*Ensure that all required COSHH assessments are available and adhered to for all material used, including correct storage of substances when not in use.
*Ensure that At Point Risk Assessments are correctly completed for each task/visit, and that the necessary Customer reviews/sign-offs are completed.
*Organise a team to carry out modification and/or service work, including allocation of tasks, instructions, tooling and material to team members at the start of the shift.
*Capable of carrying out the duties of the team as and when required (by exception) to achieve production deadlines.
*Ensure that all production documentation (MSSL & Customer) is completed as required to allow full traceability of work.
*Prepare and complete a comprehensive hand-over from shift to shift to ensure that job progress is accurately recorded and communicated.
*Review skills/training against task requirements and ensure that only competent staff are allocated to tasks.
*Monitor individual performance, including training and mentoring staff, and request additional training if required.
*Attend customer meetings as required, and liaise throughout the day to ensure that effective communication is maintained between MSSL and our Customer.
*Resolve personnel problems where possible and escalate any concerns to the Senior Supervisor, including managing the timekeeping and attendance of team.
*Ensure that accurate timesheets are submitted for the team, checking/verifying and authorising as required.
*Tool checks, to ensure tools are all present in good working order and that correct (calibrated where required) tooling is available for the tasks being completed.
*Attend/organize attendance at NCR's to rectify faults, including sourcing material/tooling and technical instructions as necessary.
*Customer facilities at Derby and/or remote sites (by arrangement).
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
*This is a full-time 37 hours/week position.
*Shift working will be required (Mornings, Afternoons & Nights) on request.
*Flexibility required as Overtime and Weekend working is likely to be required.
Required Education and Experience
*Apprentice Trained/NVQ Level 3 in an electrical discipline or equivalent experience
*At least 2 years' experience on rolling stock or similar electrical environment
*Point to point testing experience
*Pin crimping competence, including assembly and dis-assembly of multi-pin military type connectors
*Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and modification instructions
*Experience of carrying out and working to point of work risk assessments
*Driving license required as travel to off site locations is likely to be needed
