Communications Manager - £21 - 24ph Plus Hol Pay - South West London

Start: ASAP

Duration: 6 months

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Working with the Head of Communications and Associate Deans to develop and implement a robust communications strategy for the department.

* Responsibility for providing a comprehensive communications support service and overseeing internal and external communications.

* Overseeing all content and channels for the department and developing targeted content and ensuring these are managed.

* Working closely with the Deans and academic and support staff across the university campuses to bring through new content, ensuring appropriate messaging and transparency throughout the process.

* Develop, manage, and undertake PR, press, media activity and campaigns related to the department.

* Responsibility for internal communications such as newsletters, email announcements, Canvas, projects, and case studies.

* Continuously monitor and review communications activity to evaluate their effectiveness and propose improvements.

* Regularly monitor and evaluate statistical data and use the information to improve communications.

Person Specification:

* Educated to degree level in English, Journalism, Marketing or related.

* Basic technical knowledge of CMS.

* Working knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics.

* Advanced written communication skills and excellent writing skills.

* Advanced editing and proofreading skills.

* Knowledge of compliance with copyright and data protection.

* Advanced digital communication skills.

* Advanced PR and media skills.

* Experience in researching, collating and summarising information from different sources.

* Previous experience of creating and implementing Communication Strategy.

* Experience of publishing and managing content distribution to online channels and social media platforms.

* Experience with social media management.

* Experience with overseeing content on video sharing platforms.

* Experience of working with multiple stakeholders.

* Project management experience.

* Plans, prioritises and manages resources effectively to achieve long term objectives.

* Works collaboratively in a team.
