Description -

The Global User Experience team, (GUX/eCommerce) team is seeking an Information Architect to join the Digital Direct organisation within the Commercial Organisation (CO).

The IA/UX Designer is a creative thinker able to translate business strategies and creative concepts into useful and intuitive experiences across HP's direct to Consumer ecommerce stores. The position is responsible for organizing and structuring content and collaborating with the team on profitable user experiences for all Global eCommerce Stores (D2C). The process includes site and content discovery, usability and accessibility assessment and testing, taxonomy development, website, and application wire-framing/flow mapping (or other method as determined), content structuring and assistance, usability review and QA, and general consultancy.

The position requires a genuine passion for Structured Content, user research and UX best practices and the ability to assess the feasibility of projects, research and recommend solutions, and deliver estimate requirements. This position reports to the Manager the Global User Experience organisation.

Work Performed
  • Work closely with the Marketing & Operational content teams, merchandising, User Experience (UX) and engineering teams to deliver digital solutions that support the mission of Digital Direct.
  • Translate requirements using sitemaps, content priority guides or wireframes, usability testing, requirements documents, and other tools/processes as needed to develop a roadmap for business stakeholders and engineering teams.
  • Develop a deep understanding of users through user research, user interviews and analyses of user needs. Conduct usability testing using content priority guides, designs or prototypes, including script creation, goal outline, and reporting.
  • Analyse data and present research findings and recommendations both to stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Guide the final recommendations through the development process to ensure harmonious relationship between content, design, and engineering.
  • Maintain expertise on state of the art and emerging web, mobile and app technologies
  • Recommend and implement best practices for website and mobile user experience
  • Recommend standards for acceptable UX design of HP Global Stores application interfaces.
  • Develop time estimates for project deliverables and enter time weekly

Responsibilities
  • Leads information architecture, working collaboratively with UX/UI who leads on a sub-set of IA user flows and wireframes.
  • Recommend new content development and structure for HP website based on organization and user objectives.
  • Owns taxonomies and partners with web administrator to define tagging logic and protocols.
  • Conducts inventories and audits of existing site content as needed for project work or site redesigns, re-architectures, migrations, etc.
  • Develop and maintain taxonomies, metadata models, conditionalization, and classification schemas across the HP content.
  • Create consistent information hierarchies for site navigation on both a site-wide level and a page-by-page or screen-by-screen level, while adhering to design uniformity within and across projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers, government stakeholders, data visualization, UX/UI, content developers, and others to ensure that customer information architecture and content strategy help drive their desired UX, business, and technical outcomes.
  • Develops and documents governance for a strategic approach to content work, including:
  • Policies, standards, guidelines
  • Archiving and retention
  • Ownership and accountability
  • Content workflows and processes

Experience
  • Experienced in developing large scale website information architecture. Must be familiar with card sorting, category trees/tree testing and comparative analysis. Will be tasked with organizing/categorizing large amounts of information into intuitive, user-friendly taxonomies.
  • Knowledge of structured content design (Atomic Content), information architecture, and metadata attribution.
  • Experience in an Information Architect or Content Strategy/Content Development role, specifically designing and developing information architecture for large-scale content solutions using a variety of front-end and back-end platforms.
  • Experience in developing taxonomies to support a variety of systems both for front-end and back-end use.
  • Technical aptitude, familiarity with CMS (Content Management System) solutions and metadata-driven solutions.
  • Experience developing flow diagrams, schema, and other artifacts to communicate and visualize information management strategy and principles to non-IA team members (preferred but not required)
  • Knowledge of and experience working a major FMCG brand &/Or eCommerce pure or hybrid player.
